Providing year round sports programs for all school aged children in the Southwest neighborhoods of Minneapolis

Wrestling

SWAC Wrestling is a challenging program for young people ages 6-14 who want to learn the sport of wrestling. Wrestlers are introduced to basic wrestling technique and strategy, receive strength and conditioning training, and learn to compete in a sportsmanlike manner.

SWAC Wrestlers practice in the South West High School wrestling room, compete with wrestlers from other city parks in their own age group who are close their weight.

Wrestlers usually have six or more meets during the season (usually Wednesday night) with two or three tournaments on Saturdays and a City Tournament to conclude the season.

Practice for wrestling will start sometime around the end of November depending on the availability of the South West wrestling room. Wrestling meets will start in January and will conclude around the end of February.
